At IMPACT our focus is the practical use of martial arts (self defence) as opposed to competition training. Many people seek out martial arts tuition for this reason and therefore all our programmes are built around this principle.
We are also partnered with the BMABA (British Martial Arts & Boxing Association), the largest independent governing body for martial arts in the UK. We believe that everyone should train in a safe and supporting environment under qualified, vetted instructors and our programmes are proudly endorsed by the BMABA.
All our classes will help you develop functional skills and get into great shape. No previous experience is required, just a willingness to work hard and leave any egos at the door!

Escrima, also known as Kali or Arnis, is a Martial Art originating from the Philippines that utilises both weaponry and unarmed training. Our Escrima programme blends combative methods from several styles, focusing on practical use for self defence.
A core element is the transition from weaponry to empty-hand; what we learn armed also has an unarmed application, and vice-versa. Training with weapons also improves coordination and helps develop an understanding of how they work, essentially improving our ability to protect ourselves against them.
Our curriculum is split into 4 phases; beginner, intermediate, advanced and technical, where students can progress through the grades and also join our instructor programme if they wish.
Kickboxing is a dynamic martial art known for its effective striking as well as its physical and mental benefits, such as increased fitness, balance and coordination to name just a few.
Our Kickboxing programme is drawn from various striking arts and is a great way to improve health and wellbeing while learning practical self defence skills. Pad work and sparring drills help students to develop essential body mechanics, while strength and conditioning exercises improve overall fitness and shape a warrior mindset.
The curriculum runs from White belt (beginner) to Black belt (advanced) and beyond (Technical grades). Students may also join our instructor programme if they wish.


Our Juniors Kickboxing programme is centred around age-appropriate training for the following groups:
Kids: 7-9yrs
Cadets: 10-14yrs
Upper Teens: 15yrs+
Training is designed to be fun, safe, and engaging while teaching valuable martial arts skills. Classes help improve coordination, balance, and overall fitness, while also building confidence, discipline, and focus.
Through structured training and positive reinforcement, students learn respect, teamwork, and self-control in a supportive environment that encourages personal growth and helps children develop skills that benefit them both on and off the mats.

Many people teaching Self Defence focus on types of attacks without examining the psychological and physical effects that one will encounter in high stress situations. Training is often unrealistic and taught by people without experience of real-world violence.
